There may be a lot of hype associated with artificial intelligence (AI) right now, but one area where AI is almost certain to fuel growth is in data centers. A recent Dell’Oro Group report estimates that 20% of Ethernet data center switch ports will be connected to servers to support AI workloads by 2027. In addition, Dell’Oro forecasts that AI will account for an even greater percentage of server revenue, approaching 50% in the same timeframe.
