Multi-access edge compute (MEC) refers to computing at the edge of the network with proximity to the end user. The benefits are ultra-low latency and reliability. Nearly every major wireless operator, cable company, telco, hyperscaler, infrastructure and IT company has some type of edge strategy. Although there are numerous use cases for MEC – from gaming to manufacturing and more, many early edge deployments are still in their proof-of-concept phase and there’s very little specific information about how MEC will be monetized. This panel will drill down on the current status of MEC and where it’s headed. Panelists will also discuss revenue models for MEC.
