The Edge Computing Evolution – Is AI the Killer App for the Edge?

Artificial intelligence is a data-heavy, compute-intensive technology that many believe is a perfect fit for edge computing, which has been slow to gain momentum.  Bringing AI computing and analysis to the network edge (often referred to as edge AI), allows data to be processed more efficiently and with lower latency. In fact, because most AI applications are intended to be used in real-world applications, many believe it would be impractical to send AI data to a centralized cloud or enterprise data center because of latency issues and privacy concerns. This panel will discuss the latest developments in edge computing and look at whether AI will bring new momentum to the space.
