Pollen Mobile, Nova Labs’ Helium and Hexagon are just a few of the growing number of companies that make up the decentralized wireless (DeWi) market. These operations rely on regular consumers and businesses to purchase wireless gear and deploy it. Many of these DeWi networks use unlicensed CBRS spectrum for their networks. But not all DeWi networks are the same. Helium, for example, has a deal with T-Mobile and will leverage T-Mobile’s macro network and combine it with its CBRS network. For infrastructure companies, DeWi networks are another potential customer for their equipment. This panel will look at the rise of these DeWi networks and discuss the different business models. Is this a big opportunity for infrastructure companies?
