Whether it’s mid-band spectrum, low-band spectrum or mmWave spectrum, there is no question that the wireless industry needs more spectrum for 5G. The WIA and other industry groups are calling for the FCC and the NTIA to commercialize more spectrum, particularly mid-band spectrum, for 5G. But there are other opportunities as well. Some are calling for the 12 GHz band, once considered high on the cellular spectrum charts, to be considered a possible 5G spectrum band. This panel will look at the latest industry initiatives for freeing spectrum for 5G and discuss what spectrum bands have the most likelihood for success.
