Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Director & Director of Strategic Initiatives
Art Pregler is AT&T’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Program Director responsible for nationwide oversight, development and operations of drones and other robotic technologies. He is also Director of Strategic Initiatives, responsible for establishing and implementing an integrated strategic vision for new technology innovations. He is AT&T’s former Director of National Cell Site Programs, responsible for all policies, processes, systems, and supplier management related to the deployment and modification of AT&T’s nationwide portfolio of 65,000 cell sites. He performed in this role for 15 years creating and implementing AT&T’s “Turf” program, with all of its related sourcing models, contracts, and support systems to annually manage over 130,000 capital improvement projects within an annual budget exceeding $5 billion.
Prior to AT&T, Art served DOD, NASA, DARPA, and other technology-focused agencies as an Air Traffic Controller, Air Weapons Controller, and Mission Control Specialist. Art is a member of the United Nations WFP UAS Connectivity Technical Working Group; a SME Evaluator for the National Institute of Standards and Technology Public Safety Communication Research Division; a member of the FAA’s UAS Aviation Rule-Making Committee (ARC) for Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations; and a past member of the FAA’s UAS ARCs on Remote ID and Flight Over People.
