Vice President & General Manager, Networks
Brian Jakins leads the Networks Business Unit for Intelsat and is responsible for the strategic direction, vision, growth and performance of Intelsat’s Enterprise and MNO business segment across the globe, connecting the unconnected.
In his prior role with Intelsat, Mr. Jakins led and managed the business in Africa, driving innovative cell backhaul solutions, carrier grade enterprise and professional services into most large mobile operators and enterprise business segments across the continent.
Mr. Jakins has more than two decades of experience in the wireless sector, including SaaS, enterprise solutions and managed services to enterprises and technology driven businesses across the globe. Prior to joining Intelsat, he served as the Regional Vice President of Sales & Services at Aviat Networks, a leading global provider of Microwave Networking solutions. Before that, Mr. Jakins held Senior Commercial Management positions of increasing responsibility at companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Siemens Telecommunications and Wireless Data Services.
Mr. Jakins holds a master’s degree in business administration awarded by Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh in the U.K. as well as a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Milpark Business School, South Africa.
