Jeffrey A. Stoops joined SBA Communications in 1997 and has been the Chief Executive Officer since 2002. He was appointed President in 2000, and director of the company in 1999. Previously he served as the Chief Financial Officer and General Counsel where he was responsible for finance, capital market activities, mergers and acquisitions and legal matters of the organization, including sourcing and purchasing SBA’s first towers. Prior to joining SBA, he was a partner with Gunster, a Florida-based law firm, where he practiced for thirteen years in the corporate, securities and mergers & acquisitions areas.
SBA is a global company headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida. The company is an owner and operator of wireless infrastructure, primarily towers, currently operating in 12 different countries with over 26,000 sites. Founded in 1989, SBA is a publicly traded company listed on NASDAQ under the symbol SBAC and is one of Florida’s largest public companies based on market capitalization.
Jeff is a current Director and past Chairman of the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), the trade organization for the wireless communications infrastructure industry. Jeff currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, West Palm Beach, Florida; the Advisory Board for the College of Business of Florida Atlantic University; and the Board of Directors of the Children’s Healthcare Charity, Inc., the entity responsible for The Honda Classic PGA golf tournament held annually in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He is a past Chairman of the Board of St. Andrew’s School, Boca Raton, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from Florida State University.
Jeff, his wife Aggie and their four adult children are actively involved in giving back to the community through the Stoops Family Foundation.
