Keely Hughes is a current MBA student at Anderson University with a concentration in International
Business and the Director of Business Development at Skill Demand Energy. She started her career in
manufacturing Renewable Energy, battery & mobile storage systems and comes with over 10 plus years
of energy related project management experience. During her career in the Renewable Energy Industry,
Keely worked with local businesses on organizing the largest state ride and drive event that previewed
the new THINK City plug-in electric vehicle powered by EnerDel batteries.
She helped to coordinate federal and state government official manufacturing tours and events that
highlighted the production of lithium-ion batteries. She also worked on the project to supply back-up
power for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games at Sochi. From 2017-2018 Keely served as a panelist on the
EUCI Leadership Conference for Women in Energy, in Denver, Boston and San Antonio where she spoke
on the topic of establishing a Women’s Resource Group in your Organization. Keely also co-facilitated a
workshop on this very topic with women leaders from Siemens.
Keely has been an active supporter, volunteer and member of both the national and local Indiana
American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE) chapters since 2014. She served as AABE Indiana
Chapter President from 2017-2019, having organized and hosted the last in-person AABE National
Energy conference in Indiana.
