Dr. Rikin Thakker is the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), where he leads activities related to emerging technologies and advises WIA members on 5G strategies, including densification, spectrum allocation, and broadband deployment. He was recently appointed by Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel to serve on the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) Technological Advisory Council (TAC), where he works alongside other leading technology experts to aid the Commission in identifying areas of innovation and developing new technology policy around 6G. Dr. Thakker also serves on the Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC) at NTIA. He loves to teach and has been doing so an adjunct faculty for the Masters in Telecommunication program at the University of Maryland since 2009.
